Everyone knows the famous images of
earth rise taken from the moon, but I surprised to run across
this earlier amazing 1955 image from space. They pieced it together from a bunch of snapshots automatically shot though a pinhole in the side of a rocket as it rotated at its apex and fell back to earth.
